Stockwell International Urgent News Alert New Zealand 1st June 2021

Severe Weather Update

As you may be aware, Canterbury has been hit by a severe weather front over the weekend and is currently in a state of emergency. There are a number of road closures across the region with more heavy rains predicted.

Stockwell International has been advised that there are no changes to the road closers today in Canterbury. Although we can now service Ashburton from Christchurch via Leeston, delays are to be expected due to the detour.

Roads still closed;

  • SH1 South of Ashburton is closed
  • SH1 South of Dunsandel is closed
  • SH1 Ashburton Bridge is closed
  • SH73 West of Springfield is closed
  • SH77 from Darfield to Ashburton is closed

Due to these road closures no trucks will be travelling South of Ashburton.

The West Coast via the Lewis Pass will still be serviced, due to this detour there may be some delays on your consignments.

There are no road closers North of Christchurch however there may be some delays due to the weather in the wider region.

Stockwell International will endeavour to keep you up to date with information as it becomes available.
