New Zealand Terminal Congestion and Delay Notice Stockwell International has received an update in regards to terminal congestion in New Zealand, delays on cargo arriving into New Zealand is still increasing and would like to advise clients with an update of current information. Vessels calling NZ are currently operating on delayed schedules with significant gaps between them which is impacting overall operations including in-terminals operation, import deliveries, empty equipment being available and loading of export cargoStockwell International has been advised that the Port of Tauranga is still the current preferred discharge port of New Zealand. Due to continued ship visits, shuttle units have increased significantly, over the last four days. Priority cargo, is currently sitting on 8 days from discharge. General cargo, has waiting time of up to 3 plus weeks before loading. The port has urgent focus on the longest dwell. Rail transit times from Port of Tauranga to Auckland are now out to 20 plus days. On Saturday & Sunday, there was track maintenance resulting in block of line. There is limited train services running, where there is opportunity to target block stacks rail operations will target them first. Stockwells has been advised that to try and get a handle on increasing volumes, significant manpower and resources have been distributed to rail operations, in hope to increase ability to load full trains. The Port of Tauranga has said the Shuttle Select still remains the best option to reduce dwell time in POTL and strongly recommend using it.
