General Rate Increases, Peak Season Surcharge & Congestion Surcharge Dear Customers,

Stockwell International has received notice and wishes to advise customers that in light of the continued Industrial Action and continual heavy congestion, several shipping lines have been impacted and have implemented the following General Rate Increase/Peak Season Surcharge/Congestion Surcharge:

Peak Season Surcharge/General Rate Increase:  In view of the positive operational developments in the port of Sydney, shipping line Hapag-Lloyd has decided to withdraw the North East Asia to Sydney Peak Season Surcharge (PSS).This measure is applicable to all export shipments from North East Asia to Sydney, with effect from booking tariffing date March 22, 2021.

BMSB 2020-2021 Season Dear Customers,

Stockwell International has received reminder notice from Department of Agriculture Water and the Environment in regards to measures to protect against Brown marmorated stink bugNow that we are in the home stretch to the end of the season, the department has had a few emails asking about these dates.

The DAWE would like to remind importers that the measures apply to goods shipped from 1 September 2020 that arrive in Australian territory by 31 May 2021 (inclusive).

Goods shipped between 1 September 2020 and 30 April 2021 need to be treated and may be referred for intervention if they arrive by 31 May 2021 (inclusive).

Goods with a shipped on board date of 1 May 2021 onwards arriving by 31 May 2021 may be subject to inspection.

Any goods arriving from 1 June 2021 onwards will be deemed as out of scope and not subject to the measures.

Break Bulk (including open top and flat rack)

We would like to remind all customers that all break bulk is subject to mandatory offshore treatment prior to arrival into Australia.
 
Any break bulk arriving into Australia untreated, will be prevented from discharge and directed for export as per DAWE policy. No exemptions for onshore treatment will be granted.

Khapra Beetle Import Requirements Dear Customers,

Stockwell International has received notice from Department of Agriculture Water and the Environment in regards to measures to protect against khapra beetle.

As notified, khapra beetle urgent actions from DAWE commence from 12 April 2021. This phase will introduce mandatory offshore treatment requirements for target risk sea containers.

We urge all customers to read this information. As failure to comply will result in re-export of the container upon arrival in Australia.
