| High Density Surcharge on LCL Export and Import Shipments Stockwell International have received information regarding high density surcharge that will come into effect immediately. Export and Import Shipments: Singapore and via Singapore High Density/Weight cargo surcharge will apply ONLY for shipment over 5 tons/HBL. For ALL shipment over 5 TONS per HBL the shipment will be billed at a W/M ratio of 1TON : 1.6 CBM and you will be billed on whichever the greater revenue. Note: Density surcharges are applicable for base port freight and for any Inland location where subject to weight ratio and if the rates been lump together, surcharges shall not be applied as well. Rest of the world: A high-density surcharge will apply for all shipments of 5000 KGS or greater when the volume is less than a 1:1 ratio.  NEWS: West Coast gears up for days of heavy rain, severe weather The forecast from MetService shows heavy rain for the South Island’s western ranges from tomorrow to Friday, with potential for flooding, slips, and hazardous conditions for trampers.The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) says the West Coast could see half a metre of rain over the rest of the week.NIWA meteorologist Chris Brandolino told Morning Report modelling showed “several hundred millimetres of rainfall” in the course of three or four days.”So, this will be a high impact rain event for a traditionally wet area of the motu, that is the West Coast of the South Island.”But even areas between Abel Tasman down to Milford Sound could expect up to 700mm of rainfall over multiple days.”That will certainly increase the risk for slips, flooding. So people who are tramping … certainly want to reconsider your plans if not put them off.”Heavy rain was forecast from Wednesday to Saturday, Brandolino said.
